While I have yet to make up my mind on the overall design of the new Mustang, there is one detail that I absolutely hate; the pony on the steering wheel. It looks cheap; there is no definition, no detail, it is just the silhouette. To me it honestly looks like an unlicensed knockoff of the emblem. I think the version on my 2012 steering wheel is much nicer with its raised detailing and definition. I'm not saying it needed to be raised like the 2012, but they could have added detail to the horse.

Granted, I understand this is minor, but as something that I would be looking at everyday, it just looks cheap compared to the rest of the interior. Anyone else agree? the 2012 is pictured below.

I agree. Same for the pony badging on the back. Looks cheap and toyish.

Do you have an off center photo like the '12? It could just be the angle

The chiseled one is definitely better. On the other hand that shifter looks very nice.

I like how it's inset into the marble-looking layer.

No. In terms of the pony design itself ... no. I remember when they redesigned the car in 2010 Ford made a huge deal because they modified the pony. I think it was the first time the emblem was changed since '64. For 2010, they made the horse a little stronger, a little more butch. I happened to like the change (Though I should note that even the old emblem had definition in the horse). For 2015, a car that is supposed to represent the next 50 years of Mustang, it looks like they just phoned it in.

I like the inset too. As I said in the post, the pony does not have to be raised —I just want some definition in the Horse.
